NRMLA Board Re-elects Norman and Kent as Co-Chairs

The Board of Directors for the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association (NRMLA) has re-elected its incumbent co-chairs to serve in the 2021-2022 term, with Scott Norman of Finance of America Reverse (FAR) and Mike Kent of Liberty Reverse Mortgage remaining in the posts they were unanimously elected to one year ago.

Norman was first elected to NRMLA’s board in 2012, and serves as FAR’s VP of field retail and director of government relations. He notably advocated for an amendment to the Texas state Constitution to authorize the practice of reverse mortgage lending within the state in 1999, and more recently played a role in advocating for the addition of reverse mortgage for purchase loans to the allowable offerings in the state, which required legislative action and voter approval.

Kent has served as the president of Liberty Reverse Mortgage since 2015, having previously served as president of the mortgage lending division of Reverse Mortgage Solutions (RMS) from 2010 to 2014. Kent cultivated over 30 years of traditional mortgage experience and has held leadership roles across various lending functions, including sales, operations, and secondary markets before becoming active in the reverse mortgage industry.

In addition to the new co-chairs, the association also re-elected previously-serving officers, however many of those officers find themselves at different companies when compared with their employment statuses last year.

Jim Cory, formerly of Open Mortgage and now serving as the managing director of Cherry Creek Mortgage’s reverse division will serve again as vice-chair. Robert Sivori will also serve again as vice-chair, having formerly served at Celink and now serving at Roundpoint Mortgage Servicing Corporation.

Leslie Flynne was re-elected as secretary, now serving at Liberty Reverse Mortgage after its parent company purchased her prior employer, RMS. Michael McCully of New View Advisors was also re-elected as the Board’s treasurer.
