Primary Residential Mortgage (PRMI)’s dedicated reverse mortgage center, the Steven J. Sless Group based in Owings Mills, Md., announced this week the appointment of Greg Pahel to serve as retail production manager overseeing consumer-direct reverse mortgage production, in addition to leading a branch focused exclusively on reverse mortgages in the state of Arizona.

While Pahel will continue to serve as an originator with his own book of business, his responsibilities will expand to include leadership, coaching and sales support for the Sless Group’s division of reverse mortgage loan originators. Pahel will serve as a mentor for new originators, while also assisting in the recruitment of new reverse mortgage LOs across the footprint of the PRMI organization, which he will see to alongside his duties leading the Arizona branch.

Sless in a statement announcing the appointment. “His impressive track record of managing elite sales teams, coupled with his sterling reputation as a top producer and reverse mortgage industry leader position Greg as the ideal candidate to take PRMI’s consumer-direct reverse platform to new heights.”

A reverse mortgage industry veteran, Pahel previously served in industry positions at companies including the Federal Savings Bank, Paramount Residential Mortgage Group (PRMG) and American Advisors Group (AAG).

“I look forward to bringing my experience applying my skillset across the division to better serve our clients and help move PRMI and the Sless Group to becoming a top reverse mortgage leader nationwide,” Pahel added in the announcement of his hiring.

Late last year, PRMI took the step of naming the Sless Group as the lender’s dedicated reverse mortgage center, further corroborating PRMI’s ambition to become a top reverse mortgage lender nationally.

The launch of a new branch in Arizona marks the opening of the division’s third reverse mortgage-exclusive regional branch under the Sless Group/PRMI umbrella. The division also recently expanded its footprint to the Midwest after the hiring of two dedicated reverse mortgage loan originators operating out of PRMI’s Indianapolis branch, following a similar move earlier in 2021 marked by an expansion into Southern California and the addition of a regional manager in San Diego.
