AAG named a 2021 top workplace in Orange County, Calif.

Industry-leading reverse mortgage lender American Advisors Group (AAG) has been named the recipient of a Top Workplace honor for 2021 by the Orange County Register, an award bestowed based entirely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey service.

The survey, in which respondents submit answers anonymously, measures “measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection” according to AAG’s announcement of the award.

“It’s an honor to be named an Orange County Top Workplace for the ninth consecutive year,” said AAG Chief People Officer, Rebecca Pacillas in the announcement. “We are so pleased with the continued high level of employee satisfaction.”

Pacillas went on to credit the company’s approach to offer employees options during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic as one of the reasons for their overall satisfaction, describing a need for transparency to job-seekers who have far more options for work than in previous times.

“The employee experience needs to be on the mission-critical list,” Pacillas said of AAG’s perspective. “Leaders who embrace a people-first culture will benefit greatly. By giving employees a voice and showcasing your authentic culture through employer branding, organizations can attract those job seekers who complement their culture. Culture drives performance.”

This past summer, AAG announced that it had moved its corporate headquarters to a new location in Irvine, Calif., expanding its footprint in the city’s Irvine Towers complex while consolidating its overall geographic footprint in its local community in order to reflect a new hybrid workforce model.

“After moving most of our workforce [to a] remote [model] in 2020, we found that many of our employees preferred the flexibility of working from home or the office, based on the needs of their job,” said AAG Founder and CEO Reza Jahangiri at the time. “We began reimagining our workforce, post-pandemic, based on a hybrid model. After evaluating our options, moving our headquarters to Irvine Towers, in the heart of Irvine’s ‘financial district,’ gives AAG greater access to Orange County’s talent pool, while maximizing the work-life benefits for our employees.”

AAG also maintains a dedicated employee engagement program called “Project Inspire,” designed to engage with remote employees on an ongoing basis.
